Charity website design Liverpool: For over fifty years Autism Initiatives has worked alongside autistic people and their families to learn more about how they may understand each person, how they may see and experience the world differently and how their autism affects them. They have a continual focus on improving each person’s quality of life and plan a support or education service designed to meet the needs and aspirations of each person and then continue to work together to ensure that these are met.

Autism Initiatives has been going for quite some time so a lot of their online assets were being supplied by different companies. Also, their existing website was pretty out-of-date in terms of appearance and content. The brief was to try and bring everything together under one supplier and develop a cohesive message and mission statement with a unified approach.

Initially, the main challenge was stakeholder research. As a national company with offices in all four countries in the UK as well as the Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland, as well as other connected services run by different teams, we had to establish what everyone thought was required for the new site and how their particular office or department should be represented on the new site. In addition, each office worked slightly differently from the others.

After Zoom meetings and questionnaires, we collated everyone’s responses to their thoughts and ideas to develop a working plan for the website. This took quite a while as there were many staff in far flung corners of the country which we needed to respond, as well as other associated organisations connect to Autism Initiatives. Once we had all the info, we created an action plan for the site’s development. The website is targeted at the parents, carers, and family of people with autism, social workers, and other professional bodies both in terms of content and messaging.

Charity website design Liverpool: All offices, schools for autism, and associated social enterprises were included on the site. Using a full screen menu we successfully compartmentalised these sections and the content for different audiences. We updated the branding to achieve a bright and modern design. Despite being a long project, with good comms and regular feedback meetings it went well, so well that we paused its development mid-way through to develop a jobs and recruitment portal for Autism Initiatives to help them with staff onboarding and managing candidates.
