IT company web design Liverpool: MICT provides specialised IT support for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), learning centres, and charities. Its services extend from providing back up to in-house IT teams to designing and implementing entire networks. MICT’s team of engineers are not just skilled and qualified, but they’re also seasoned warriors in the IT realm, having earned a myriad of industry-standard certifications.
We’ve collaborated with MICT a fair few times over the years as we have mutual clients. The director, Tim, showed us a website he liked for an IT support company in Chester. It was a great site and a departure from your usual IT company websites which tend to be a bit dull and techy. Tim said he wanted something with the same approach. The brief was ‘something quirky’. That was it.
Making IT exciting! IT can be a little dry so doing something ‘quirky’ with it, while still maintaining a professional gravitas, was a key consideration. Also, ‘quirky’ is quite subjective, but we like a challenge. In addition, there was quite a lot of content to structure and compartmentalise into something that was both informative and easily digested for website visitors.
MICT are there to help and support their clients so the concept of ‘superheroes’ was adopted. This idea lent itself to American style comic books. A series of stock images were selected in a similar style to attempt to satisfy the design brief. These images obviously have to relate to content, so we edited and structured the content into sections that would work well with one of the comic book images. There’s a certain amount of humour involved which goes quite a way to lift IT services out of the ‘techy and geeky’ approach normally taken with IT support websites.
IT company web design Liverpool: It’s definitely quirky, and like no other IT support website that we’ve seen. The site’s written content was also geared towards comic book language to compliment the design: ‘Here at MICT, we offer fully-managed IT support that arms businesses with proactive surveillance, unyielding security, and meticulous compliance services, preventing any villainous slowdowns in your operations!’. We achieved the ‘quirky’ brief to the extent that MICT have decorated their board room with images from the website including this one which adorns the main wall.
